Thank you to everyone who attended, took photos and helped with our St Andrew’s Night celebration on the 30th of November. We had a great time eating stovies, listening to live Scottish music and dancing. We hope you had a great time too and we hope you learned some new ceilidh dances!

We had a great day today at the School of English. Several classes discussed Halloween, our Advanced class went “guising” around different classes, and our Advanced tutor, Richard, brought in apples so that we could try apple bobbing/”dooking for apples”, as we say in Scotland.
Apple bobbing – the traditional way!
Our Elementary tutor apple bobbing.
Have you ever tried apple bobbing?
Some of our Advanced class trying different masks.
Our Advanced tutor, Richard, “guising/trick or treating” different classes!
Can you come up with a different word for each letter of “Halloween”?
Some of the activities our Elementary class were doing today – reading about Halloween, Halloween vocabulary, unscrambling words, and describing photos!
Halloween chocolate, brought in by one of our tutors!
Apple bobbing – using a fork.
We hope everyone had a great time! Thanks to our tutors, especially Richard, for helping create our Halloween themed lessons.
Yesterday, we celebrated languages from all around the world! We celebrated our own version of last Tuesdays’s European Languages Day, making it into a day for International Languages instead!
We had some great activities, including:
1. Matching the flags to their countries
2. Writing about the country you’re from
3. Drawing a picture of yourself and writing the languages you speak
4. Identifying the language from a short sentence in that language
We also had other activities, like creating sentences from German words and trying out bilingual Arabic-English books! We had a great time, and we hope you did too.
Would you like to tell us something about your home country or language? Please tell us in the comments!
Our Academic Calendar for August to December 2017 is now available. You can also find it under “Calendar”.
Anyone interested in attending our evening classes is welcome to come along to Wallace High School for registration this evening. Our evening classes will begin on Thursday evening. We hope to see you there!
Congratulations to one of our First Cambridge Certificate students, Selina, who passed with flying colours! We wish her the best for the future.
Unfortunately, Summer School has ended. We had a great time and we hope you did too! Activities ranged from discussions on “the best job in the world” and culture shock to murder mysteries and business simulators. We learned about Scottish culture and history and students shared their experiences with us – we even had an in-class performance of a beautiful traditional song from one of our Intermediate students! We hope you enjoyed Summer School as much as we did, and we hope to see many of you return alongside some new faces to our classes this term!
What better way to celebrate the end of the school year and the beginning of Summer than by coming along to our annual International Supper and Ceilidh!
Held on Wednesday 31st May at the Albert Halls, Stirling, entry is £3.00 per person. For further information and to reserve your ticket, contact us on 07817 749903, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We hope to see you there!
